Happy All Saints Day!

Students who obtained a 95% or higher in one or more major subject areas on the national standardized test Terra Nova, administered last spring, were recognized for qualification to the Johns Hopkins talent search.

Parking Cars at the Barton Fairgrounds/Community Service

Students and their families pitched in to help direct cars to the parking areas at the annual Barton Fair.  This is the first fundraiser of the school year as well as a community service project for older students.

Middle School teachers attend Responsive Classroom Workshop

“Independent research has found that the Responsive Classroom approach is associated with higher academic achievement in math and reading, improved school climate, and higher-quality instruction.”SAM_6554

From August 8 – August 11, Mrs. Schafer, Mr. T and Mrs. Ledoux actively participated in the Responsive Classroom Workshop for Middle School Educators in Morrisville, VT.  They will be implementing many of these practices in their classrooms this fall.  For more information, visit the Responsive Classroom website.
