7th and 8th grade Humanities Program 2017-18

This year the Language Arts curriculum and the Social Studies curriculum will be integrated into a program called Humanities. The focus this year will be on American History.   The class will meet from 9:30-11:30 each day . Every student is expected to hand in the summer reading/writing assignments on the first day of school as well as bring the organized binder to class. Agendas will be available then. I look forward to an adventure in learning as world history has so many stories that I have yet to learn! And I welcome you to be curious about the explorations ahead.  Mrs. Susan Guilmette

7TH AND 8TH GRADE SUMMER MATH ASSIGNMENT

This summer as you prepare for math in the fall you are expected to complete at least 5 hours on Khan Academy at or above the grade level you are to enter.  For example, if you are entering 7th grade, you may work at the 7th grade math level or above.  If you will be taking Algebra I in the fall, work in Algebra I or above.  I will be monitoring your progress over the summer as Khan Academy sends me updates on your progress every week.

Pilgrimage to St. Joseph

Pilgrimage to
St. Joseph

On our pilgrimage to St. Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal, Maeve enjoyed the bells in the awesome bell tower.  Teaguen and Allie liked the organ music in the church.  Audrey’s favorite part was the garden with the stations of the cross.  Ava’s best memories are looking at the city and seeing St. Andre’s heart.
