Founded in 1896, Saint Paul’s Catholic School is now located on 54 Eastern Ave, Barton, VT. Enrollment for the 2019-20 school year was 51 students. Students from all faiths are encouraged to attend our Prek thru 8th grades. Our staff is dedicated with a collective 250 years of experience. Many of our students score well above grade level equivalence on the standardized test called Terra Nova upon graduation. The past several Valedictorians from the local high school have been graduates of St Paul’s Catholic School. With our community service requirement for graduation, students are encouraged to fulfill our mission:
“Saint Paul’s Catholic School instills Christian values in its students and a desire to make a positive difference in the world”.
Our parents are also asked to volunteer on 5 required fundraisers or they may opt out by paying Community Service Fee. Additionally, we thrive on the works of service to better the school in whatever talents they have to share, so we will honor up to 50 hours of service towards tuition credit at a rate of $10/hr. All families are members of our parent group called SPPA (Saint Paul’s Parents Association). Our SPPA helps to fundraise over $30,000 every year to offset the operational costs to run the school.
Saint Paul’s Catholic School was accredited by the commission of New England Accreditation of Schools and Colleges in 2018. We are in constant review for this process and re-accreditation is due in 2028.
In 2018, our Prek program servicing ages 3 and 4, was recognized by the CDC as a program with 4 STARS. We are very proud of this accomplishment. Our program is limited to ten students and is eligible for state subsidy based on a sliding scale.
Immunizations are important to keep our communities safe and healthy. Students are required to comply with the sate guidelines. The only exemptions recognized it that of medical exemptions. Therefore, St Paul’s Catholic School is proud to announce that we are 97.6% fully vaccinated compared to the State rate of 92%.
