It’s almost Aug 1….as Nemo would say: ” Time for school…. time for school!Nemo

We are excited to welcome you all back to another school year.  This letter is loaded with info to empower you and keep you informed.  It is not meant to overwhelm.
1) Uniforms:  the FREE uniform closet will be open on Thurs Aug 8 8AM-3 PM.  I understand that the French Toast site may not be working, so remember that you can purchase items from JCPenny, or even Walmart!  Patches at $1.50 for new shirts.  If you’re lucky the shirts you get from our closet already have them on it!!!
2) School Supply lists can be found on our website under the teachers’ name.  Staples and Walmart have incredibile deals right now!
3) If you are using the After School Program, now is the time to fill in your Child Subsidy paperworks.  It can take up to 30 days to get accepted.
4)  Virtus online training- REQUIRED!!!  for chaperoning field trips.  If you did it last year, you will receive an email a few weeks prior to your renewal date to update your info.  For many of you that did it last August/Early Sept, you will be receiving it shortly.
5) Fingerprinting- REQUIRED if you plan on driving, coaching, subbing or volunteering in the school.  There’s an open house TONIGHT!!!  4-6PM at the Sheriff’s Dept across from Agway in Derby.  $35 and 2  forms of ID.  Get a receipt.  You must have a special form from me, so if you didn’t request that yet, let me know ASAP and I will emial that to you.
6) First required fundraiser of the year.  Barton Fair Parking!  The fair is Sept 4-8.  Each family needs to sign up for 4 parking shifts.  Recruit a neighbor, get a student from LR that needs community service, come as a team or sign up for multiple days.  The buy out is $150 payable to the school Aug 30.

7) Speaking of the Fair, we will be going on Friday Sept 6.  I’m waiting to see if I get a grant to send students for no charge.  As of now…  chaperones will pay the advance ticket price ($16 we think….).  Chaperones are required for PreK, as this is our first trip and we must have 1:1 supervision.  It will also be all day, (without a nap), so the suggestion is to leave as you need to and reenter  later in the day since your ticket is good all day.  Students in grades K-8 will ride the bus (hopefully… if I have a driver…) See attached permission form.
8) Save the date!  September 11-  4:30-6:30 PM Open House Meet and Greet!
9) School Masses will be mostly on Fridays at 8:30 AM.  All are welcome.  Please come worship with us.  Sit with your child.  It’s a child friendly mass.  Students do the readings, hold the prayer sign, serve at the altar, and sing.  Our first mass is Friday Aug 30.
10) If you did not upload the paperwork the office needs for record keeping and grant writing see attached.  (Did I tell you I write a lot of grants) The numbers, especially on Household income, due to our demographics is often an indicator on eligibility.  So the more info I can collect,  the better funding I can secure for the school and your child’s experience here at St Paul’s.  Please fill them in and send them to school with your child.  You may also scan anything back to me at this email.
See you Aug 26.  Drop off begins at 7:40 AM.
